About the Program

Design Thinking for Environmental Solutions is a co-created design thinking workshop series that will bring together 20 participants from Pakistan & Egypt in a collaborative digital learning experience.

The participants will embark on a design thinking journey, led by expert instructors and mentors, to identify & understand environmental challenges in their cities and work together to design sustainable solutions to address these challenges.

Key Program Highlights

Program Timeline: The program will take place between March & May.



Time Commitment Required: 2-3 hours of involvement per week. All online workshops are scheduled over weekends only.



Location: Online engagement.



Type of Engagement: Interactive digital workshops & discussion groups.

Localising universal sustainable development goals to the perspective of cities in the global South.

What to Expect

12 week commitment
Fellows will commit 12 weeks to the program with 2-3hr weekly engagement. Fellows are required to participate in all program activities.
Online Workshops
Fellows will participate in a series of interactive, online learning & design workshops. All online sessions will be held over weekends.
Collaborative R&D
Fellows will engage in collaborative research and design, using digital platforms, to identify solutions for urban environmental challenges in Pakistan & Egypt.
Cross-Cultural Exchange
Fellows will work closely with other participants in teams with each team consisting of fellows from Pakistan and Egypt.

Eligibility

The fellowship is inviting applications from students across Pakistan. Students in low-resource contexts facing barriers to digital tools and internet will be facilitated and are encouraged to apply!

The fellowship offers equal opportunity for all and does not discriminate on the basis of socio-economic background, gender or disability.

  1. 2-3hr weekly commitment for three months, March to May, to the fellowship with regular participation in all activities.
  2. Highschool students, grade levels 10-13) from across Pakistan
  3. Basic English Communication Skills
  4. Basic understanding of using digital tools and technologies

The fellowship is inviting applications from students across Egypt.

  2. Students currently enrolled in first & second year Bachelors level Architecture or Urban Design programs, in Egypt
  3. Basic English Communication Skills
  4. Basic understanding of using digital tools and technologies
